How it Started
Our story begins on a plane. Our drive began in a conference room. Our vision began with an idea. Our goal is to end the collegiate addiction epidemic. We work together to make our college campuses a safe space with no judgements for all those in recovery and for recovery allies.

Our Story
​
I think it's a beautiful story how we started. It begins on a plane. The four of us were all on our way to Washington D.C to attend the SAFE project conference. We never met each other prior (well...except for Nai'a and Bianca) but as fate would have it, we all were seated next to each other. The flight was a red-eye flight and even though we were tired, we were so thankful that we had each other. Over the next few days, we all bonded and shared things we never thought we'd share with anyone. We felt safe and loved for who we are.
It was a beautiful thing to see how supportive and accepting everyone was of each other. We thought, "wow, wouldn't it be wonderful to live in a world like that?" By the last day of the conference, we had all decided we would work together to bring this same safe space to our Hawai'i college campuses. We are starting small by working with our own campuses, but our end goal is to reach all of the Hawai'i campuses and for everyone to take the No Shame Pledge. We have a lot of work to do, but we are confident that we will reach our goal and end the collegiate addiction epidemic. ​
